The Little Things Add Up…
When it comes to saving on your heating, it’s the little things that add up. Turning your thermostat down just 1 degree can help reduce your heating bills by 10% every year. Shutting any doors of any rooms that aren’t regularly used. And even if you're tempted to turn up your heating, always try sticking on that extra layer to warm you up.
Position Your Furniture
Despite how obvious this one sounds, furniture directly blocking your radiators will trap the heat and bring down the temperature of your room. Re-arranging your room and positioning any furniture away from radiators may save you from increasing your thermostat.
Insulate
Adding the recommended amount of 270mm of Loft insulation could help you save up to £180 per year and reduces the amount of carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere. Cavity wall insulation is another great way to help reserve energy in your home with an annual saving of £140.
Keep The Heat In With Double Glazing
Double glazing helps retain heat in your home from escaping outside and in warmer weather can limit the amount of heat from outdoors. An average home loses up to 30% of its heating and cooling energy through air leaks around windows indoors. any leaks should also be repaired and can be fixed with appropriate foams or chalks.
Use a premium/energy efficient oil
